Lil Wayne Gives Wheelchair To A Disabled Mother

Apparently New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne has the Christmas Spirit.

While inprisoned, one of Wayne's fans by the name of Ronda Austin gave him some encouraging words in a series of letters and he has not forgotten. Yesterday, Weezy answered her prayers by providing her disabled mother, Evelyn Austin, a resident of Williamstown, who has been confined her New Jersey home since suffering long-term knee complications that prevented her from standing, with a mobilized wheelchair to aid her means of transportation.

“The first time I wrote Lil Wayne I just let him know I support him,” Ronda recounted. “I let him know that God is with him and telling him to keep his head up and stay encouraged.”
Inspired by her words, Mr. Carter sent Evelyn a mobilized wheelchair to thank the Austin’s for their support. “I didn’t know Wayne before now, but I do know him now and I thank him, I really thank him, explained Evelyn. “He didn’t even know me and he got me a chair. I pray and ask God to bless him."

50 Cent Slapped With Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

According to the latest reports, Queens rapper and entreprenuer, 50 Cent, has had a copyright infringement lawsuit filed against him by Tyrone Simmons, a 28-year old rapper from Atlanta, who charges Curtis with stealing the instrumental for the song "I Get Money" which debuted on the Massacre.

In the words of AllHipHop.com, "Simmons purchased the liscense to the instrumetal version of "I Get Money" which cannon be used without his permission due to a copyright." Unfortunately, says Simmons lawyer, Louis D. Tambaro, "the misappropriation of copyright-protected material is an endemic problem in the music business, and particularly in the genres of hip-hop and rap.

At this point, it remains unclear how much Simmons aims to claim in his lawsuit, which for the time being is aimed at 50 Cent, Aftermath Entertainment, G-Unit, and Shady Records. We will keep you posted with updates as the story progresses.

Cash Money Records Gypped Wendy Day

According to recent reports, Cash Money Records allegedly never paid the very person responsible for getting them their deal.
Cash Money Records' shady finances are well-documented, with artists like Mannie Fresh, Bangladesh, Jim Jonson and many others outraged over how the label handles its accounting.

Apparently Wendy Day, the founder of the Company and the woman responsible for getting Birdman and his brother Slim their deal with Universal Music Group has not been reimbursed for her instrumental role in the founding of Cash Money Records.

"Wendy Day ended up being very instrumental in huge huge deals that changed that balance of power in the music industry between the artist and the record company," Dan Charnas, author of the upcoming book The Big Payback, explains.

Man Sued For Posing As Jeezy's Agent

Once again, Carlos Godspeed of "Top Agent Booking" is being sued for allegedly collecting money for a concert that never was scheduled. In September Godspeed took fifty-thousand dollars pretending to be a booking agent for Drake and Ciara.

The same lawsuit is being filed against Godspeed. The only difference is that this time Young Jeezy not Drake and Ciara is the victim. Three promoters, Chris Moreno and Sonny and Roger Manila, filed the lawsuit in December. The suit claims that Godspeed represented himself as the official booking agent for Jeezy and took $50,000 for the show. Godspeed reimbursed Jeezy $23,000 of the $50,000 as of the moment, but has not given back the remaining $27,000.

The 33 year old rapper is scheduled to release his fourth solo album TM103 in 2011. The Def Jam release was pushed back several times in 2010.
